Natural Ways to Improve your Memory Skills.
We have all been there, trying to remember the name of that street, or you go into a room and you forget why you went there in the first place. This can be very frustrating, although most of the time it is nothing for a major concern.
There are many reasons why memory loss takes place. As we celebrate more birthdays, we experience physiological changes that can cause glitches in brain functions. It takes longer to remember information and learn skills. On a positive note, no matter of age the brain is always producing cells. Aging and memory loss is not inevitable. The way you live, what you eat or don’t eat and your habits can either help or hurt your memory (If you believe that what you are experiencing is the onset of dementia, not your regular forgetfulness, see a doctor to receive proper diagnosis)
How can your help regular forgetfulness?
1. Omega-3 Fatty Acids – The majority of the cell structure in the brain consists of healthy fats. The most important one is Omega-3. As the brain produces new cells, it needs a lot of Omega-3 to help with the process.
2. Antioxidants- Yes, blueberries, grapes, broccoli, garlic (and the list goes on) help protect your brain. As we age, free radicals float through bloods stream and break down brain cells. Antioxidants partner up with these radicals and make them good.
3. Hydrate your brain – Drink lots of water!
4. The Vitamin B Family – Don’t become vitamin deficient. Take your vitamins especially B12. It is proven that it helps with memory loss.
5. We have heard many times in our life to eat a balanced diet. Fruits, Veggies, Complex Carbs, and your fats. All these come hand-in-hand to really feed your brain so that it will be good to you in those times when you need your memory the most.
